Cynthia McGowen and Tim Gunn As most of you know I won a contest to help raise awareness for Psoriasis. By winning, I along side with 7 other winners walked the runway in The Addressing Psoriasis Fashion Show hosted by Tim Gunn of Project Runway held in New York City on
September 2, 2009. After the 8 of us won, our stories were posted on www.AddressPsoriasis.com where people voted for their Most Inspiring Story - and guess what - I WON!

Now, it is time to keep raising awareness AND raise $$$$ to help researchers find a cure. So I ask you to help me in my new "Virtual Walk" venture.

Even though this walk is virtual, I will actually walk for your dollars. For every $5 you donate, I will walk a mile. I have a goal to lose 15 pounds while raising $1000. That means I will be walking 200 miles. My goal is to do this in 6 months. I know I can do the mileage but I need you to do the donating. PLEASE help out with any donation you can. Donate $5 or donate $100 or more; any amount helps find a cure (and shave a little off my backside). I will be posting my walk progress so you can keep track of how many miles I have walked and you can see the total donation raised.

Losing Weight and Curing Psoriasis!

As many as 30 percent of people who have psoriasis will also develop psoriatic arthritis, which is a very painful and potentially crippling form of arthritis. In addition to the skin condition, they have to deal with intense joint pain, swelling and other symptoms that limit their ability to carry out the routines of daily life.

More than 7.5 million Americans have psoriasis, yet very little is being invested in public education or research for a cure. I am asking for your help. Through the Walk to Cure Psoriasis, we will bring in money to help find a cure and create public awareness about the disease.
